IT Audit : your network, working stations or
server functioning check done by a third party person or company.
The procedure establish the general eficiency of the system, especially related to data integrity and security.

IT Expert : person with IT knowledges, gained in time,
after studies and practice.

IT infrastructure :
sum of phisical equipments (server, network, computers) and softwares,
who insure data introduction, storage, processing, archive, namely who insure communication with other
partener companies.

Server or network maintenance : manual or automatic
operations done periodically by an IT consultant in scope to maintain optimal
performance of a network/server, respectively to insure data integrity and disponibility.

MCP : Microsoft Certified Professional :
is a certification issued by Microsoft for the person who studied an OS made by Microsoft and who
passed an exam for it.

MCSA Security : Microsoft Certified
Systems Administrator : is a certification issued by Microsoft for the person who studied an OS made
by Microsoft and who passed 4+1 speciallity exams. MCSA certification offers the
access to detailed technical informations about Microsoft products and offers the net
advantage of MCSA certified person over non-certified persons.

Systems Engineer : is a certification issued by Microsoft for the person who studied an OS made
by Microsoft and who passed 7+1 speciallity exams. MCSE certification offers
the access to detailed technical informations about Microsoft products and offers the net
advantage of MCSE certified person over non-certified persons.

Microsoft : American company who produce
OS and softwares for servers and computers (Windows 2003 server, XP, Office).
Microsoft OS for servers points out by it´s apparent administration simplicity, based on implicite
configuration of some implicit started services. This characteristic is exploited by hackers and
virus manufacturers, which lead to serious problems and critical situations.
Microsoft company has it´s own certification system for servers´ OS (MCP, MCSA, MCSE).

Special problem(s) : one not yet discovered cause for
mal functionning of your network, server or computer. It is special because other people tried to
solve it, but they didn´t succed yet. An distinctive aspect of these problems is their persistence.
One solution can solve one of its efect, but don´t remove the initial cause.
Probably the problem will appear next month and its unsolving can cause other problems appearance.

Network - IT Network: more
interconected computers located in the same perimeter (a building or group of buildings) -
local network or they can be distributed into a geographical area
(city or country) - wide network.

Router : equipment who allow data routing into a
wide network. Can be a dedicated hardware or a computer who runs a special software.

Server : performant computer who runs an administrative
sofware, who controls network access and to its resources (printers, storage capacities), who
offer resources to the computers members into the network. Runs usually all time and it is protected correspondently.

OS : Operating System : sum of base softwares of a
computer who allow to be run in efficient mode. There are special designed softwares for
network servers and working stations.

Security system : sum of phisical and
logical organizational measures, who insure that data are access only by authorised persons,
but without restricting the eficiency of the base activity of your company.

Wireless network : local network (LAN) without any
wires, who send and receive data by radio, IR signals or other technologies who does not need phisical connexions.
